A sketchbook contributes to the visual record of your thought processes, engaging on different levels with one or a series of ideas. Exploration of media or medium as potential vehicles appropriate in translating the varying degrees of conceptualisation which take place throughout the move towards concrete forms. The search, resolving of problems to secure a tangible form, often shows a degree of thought patterns employed by the artist.

Work in progress

Currently in the process of completing a further artist’s book, developed as a piece of work in its own right, the ideas contained in the book, research, process of conceptualisation will also create a series of work such as ‘Dark Noise’ which emerged from a previous book. Indication of some ideas being pursued: Booze Culture, (promotion) Global Wreckage, plus living next to the Q.E. hospital I’m used to the flow of air ambulance and military helicopters bringing in the wounded and shattered bodies of troops from Afghanistan, having been given permission to take photographs of the interior of the now defunct Selly Oak hospital I’m looking at how I can produce work relating to an imagined latent affect within the now empty rooms, (present but not manifest or active), plus there will be references  to rhetoric used in above areas, conceptual and associative engineering. Just part of the ideas which will be included in content of book and which may generate a series of conceptual works.
